TATA PPC CEMENT

TATA PPC CEMENT

  • description

Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) is a blend of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) clinker, gypsum, and pozzolanic materials (often fly ash or calcined clay). The pozzolan reacts with calcium hydroxide during curing, producing additional cementitious compounds that enhance the final concrete quality.

Advantages of Using PPC Over OPC

  • Lower heat evolution during curing, minimizing thermal cracks in mass concreting.
  • Enhanced durability and impermeability from pozzolana reaction filling pores and reducing ingress of moisture, chlorides, and sulfates. 1
  • Improved workability and bonding because of finer, more spherical cement particles.
  • Environmentally sustainable, since part of the cement content is derived from industrial by-product fly ash.

Ideal for:

    • Large-volume structures like dams, retaining walls, heavy foundations
    • Coastal or marine infrastructure where sulphate resistance is essential
    • Brickwork, blockwork, and plastering, thanks to its smooth and cohesive finish
